FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions)
Here’s some answers to frequently asked questions:
Do I deadhead Drift® or Knock Out® Roses?
Both Drift and Knock Out Roses will bloom repeatedly from spring to the first hard freeze. (I’ve enjoyed both still blooming at Christmas) They do not require deadheading, but have a tidier look by removing the faded blooms. Some people feel they bloom quicker if they are lightly trimmed after each bloom cycle.

How much sun is “full sun”?
At least 6 hours of sun per day.
How much sun is “partial sun” or “partial shade”?
Both mean 3-6 hours of direct sunshine per day. However, in the Texas heat “partial shade” is better described as sun in the morning and shade in the afternoon.

How much do I water my plants?
This is the $64,000 question. The answer is “It depends”.
• What time of year it is, if it’s hot it needs more than if it’s colder
• What season it is. Plants don’t need as much water in late fall, winter and early spring.
• How much rainfall have we had. More rain = less water needed, less rain = more water needed
• A newly planted plant requires more water than an established plant.
• Test the soil to see if it is wet or dry to help determine the amount of water needed.

Why are the leaves on my plant turning yellow?
Most of the time it is due to overwatering. Less water should stop new leaves from turning yellow.
It can also be caused by planting the plant too deeply. The plant needs to be lifted and dirt added to the hole and then replant at the proper depth.
Covering the root ball with soil. Remove the soil from on top of the root ball. You may have to follow the steps above if it is planted too deeply.
