‘Little Gem’ Magnolias: Hidden Gems In The Garden
The ‘Little Gem’ Magnolia is the medium-sized Magnolia. Not as compact as the Teddy Bear but still considerably smaller than the stately Southern Magnolia. It is a versatile ornamental tree of manageable size making it a perfect addition to gardens and landscapes.
This evergreen gem with its dark green leaves provides a year-round canopy. The rusty-brown underside of the leaves gives additional visual appeal. It has a slow to moderate growth rate reaching a height of 15 – 20 feet ideal for smaller gardens and tight spaces.

The Little Gem produces large, creamy-white blossoms that can reach up to 6 inches in diameter. Blooming from late spring through summer, their sweet fragrance carries throughout the garden.
They prefer full sun to partial shade, and well-drained soil. Use a slow-release fertilizer in early spring to keep them healthy. Minimal pruning, mainly for maintenance is all that’s required.

Plant as an accent tree, its striking flowers and evergreen foliage make it a perfect focal point in any garden. When planted in a row, Little Gems can form a beautiful, dense screen or hedge.
No matter where its planted the Little Gem will undoubtedly bring elegance, a sweet fragrance and beauty to any garden.
