Have Your Pentas Grown Too Tall?
Pentas are one of my favorite hot weather annuals. It never seems to get too hot for them and they produce even more flowers as the summer deepens. Hummingbirds and butterflies love them too! Found in white, various shades of pink, lavender, lipstick and deep red they bloom from April till the first hard frost.
They are also versatile – if they grow too tall, you can cut them back to a shorter height. This will cut many of the blooms off, but within 2 weeks or so, they are back, fuller than they were before with lots of buds and blooms. Just another reason to include these beauties in your containers or beds.
