What Is Diatomaceous Earth?

Diatomaceous earth is a naturally occurring material made from the fossilized remains of microscopic aquatic organisms called diatoms. Their silica-rich remains accumulate over time in deposits called diatomite.

The diatomite is mined and ground into a fine powder that looks and feels much like talcum powder.
