Danny’s Do’s & Don’ts: Late Fall & Early Winter To Do List

Here’s what you should (and shouldn’t) be doing this fall and winter in the garden!

Do:

• Rake fall leaves to remove insect eggs and sleeping insects.

• Plant winter veggies like Broccoli, Cabbage, Lettuce and Radish

• Remove dead limbs and branches from trees and shrubs

Don’t:

• Forget to protect thinner pots such as terra cotta from approaching cold weather

• Forget to water containers of plants under porches during the cooler months

• Leave dead vegetable plants in your garden, they can have harmful insects and eggs on them

• Overwater holiday favorites like Poinsettias and Christmas Cactus
