February is an important time of the year for gardeners. Follow these Do’s and Don’ts on how to give your plants and lawn the head start they need.
 

Do:

• Apply pre-emergent to your lawn and flower beds.

• Fertilize roses, and evergreen shrubs.

• Start your vegetable seeds inside in trays.
 

Don’t:

• Apply a Weed and Feed – it’s the wrong time of the year.

• Fertilize your grass – it’s too early.

• Forget to prune your roses around Valentine’s Day.
