Have an area of your yard that needs a little love, but you’re not quite sure where to begin? Maybe you know the look you want, but figuring out which plants to choose, how many you need, and where everything should go feels like the hard part.
That’s exactly what our Plant by Numbers program is for!
Think of it as a personalized landscape plan that takes the guesswork out of planting. We design it. You plant it. You’ll leave The Home & Garden Center with a plan created specifically for your space, along with the information you need to bring that plan to life at home.
How Plant by Numbers Works
First things first: this part happens inside! Escape the East Texas summer heat and settle into Danny’s office in the cold A/C—we’ll even have a bottle of ice-cold water waiting for you.
During your one-hour consultation, you’ll sit down with Danny to talk through your space, your needs, and what you’d like your finished landscape to look like. Using the photos and measurements you provide, he’ll create a design specifically for your property.
And this isn’t a one-size-fits-all plant list! Your design takes important details into consideration, including sun or shade conditions, plant heights, placement, and how the finished landscape will complement your home.
Danny will draw your design during the consultation and create a quote for the plants needed to complete it. Most designs can be completed within the one-hour appointment, so you can leave with a plan and the confidence to finally tackle that space that’s been stumping you!
What Do You Need to Bring?
No fancy landscape plans required! Before your appointment, we just need:
• Photos of the area you’d like to landscape.
• A rough sketch with measurements of the planting area. It doesn’t have to be pretty—we just need the basic shape and dimensions!
The better we understand your space, the better we can design a landscape that works there.
Then Comes the Fun Part: You Plant It!
You’ll leave your consultation with a completed design that serves as your roadmap for the project. Much like the paint-by-number projects you remember as a kid, your plan makes it easier to see what goes where so you can confidently tackle the installation yourself.
And you’re not on your own once you leave! Our team is here to answer questions as you work through your project. Plus, because we’re your one-stop shop for gardening, you can pick up the plants and other supplies you need right here at THGC.
Don’t want to do the planting yourself? While THGC no longer provides planting services, we can recommend someone who can help with installation.
